English Language Requirements

Undergraduate Courses:

• Our standard entry criteria for undergraduate courses are IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).

• ETS TOEFL iBT with 80 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking

• Pearson PTE with 60 overall and a minimum of 59 in all components.

Post Graduate Courses:

• Our standard entry criteria for postgraduate taught and postgraduate research courses is IELTS 6.5, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).

• ETS TOEFL iBT with 88 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking

• Pearson PTE with 61 overall and a minimum of 59 in all components.

Alternatively, we also conduct ELPT (English Language Proficiency Test) for students who are not meeting our above requirements.

Academic Requirement:

If International students are applying for an undergraduate course (year 1 entry) the candidate must hold one of the following:

• HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 50% from the West Bengal exam board

• HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 55% from the following exam boards: CBSE, Delhi, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu

• HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 60% with at least 40% in a minimum of 5 subjects from any other exam board

• Acceptable Gap for PG : Not more than 2 years (2021 Passout Onwards)

For English

• IELTS 6.0 overall with no Band Less than 5.5
• Pearson PTE with 60 overall and a minimum of 59 in all components.
• IELTS Waiver available to students who have scored 65% or above in class 12 English to waive off the IELTS condition followed by English assessment.
• TOEFL with overall 80 and writing and listening 17, reading 18, speaking 20.

If International students are applying for a postgraduate taught course the candidate must hold one of the following:

• 3 years Bachelors or 4 years Bachelor Engineering or Technology, minimum division 2 (50% - 59%) in relevant subjects

• 4 years Bachelor of Laws complying with above for entry to LLM

• A recognized pre-Master’s course

• 2 years of work experience is required for MBA with Placement

• Acceptable Gap for PG : Not more than 5 years (2018 Passout Onwards)

• Maximum 10 supplementary or resits in graduations completed in not more than a year.

For English

Student Village- The 511 rooms are split into 110 flats, and most rooms are en-suite. There are also two launderettes and bicycle storage available for residents. The Student Village is managed by ARU, and our Housing Management team will be on hand to help you with any queries once you move in.

The total value of this scholarship is £4,000.

Complete an application form and submit a 500-word supporting statement outlining why you’re suitable for this scholarship. 

International Merit Scholarship between £1,000 and £2,000 (depending on Merit)
How do I apply?
You’ll automatically receive our International Merit Scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria.

MBA Bursary £4,000 for the one-year course, or £2,000 for the two-year course with placement.
How do I apply?
You will be automatically considered for this scholarship when you apply for the MBA.

International Early Payment Discount worth £1,000 (If you pay the entire tuition fees in full before the deadline)
How do I apply?
There is no need to apply. Simply pay your tuition fees, minus the discount, by the payment deadline.
